Social Worker Information

Parents, teachers, staff, and administration can make a referral for a student to see the school social worker. In addition, students can also refer themselves to see a social worker. 

The goal of education based social work counseling is to collaborate with students and families to ensure all needs are met so that students have the opportunity to be successful academically, socially, mentally, and emotionally.   

What we do:  A school social worker's goal is to provide mental, emotional, behavioral, and social support to students and families. Some services that the social workers may provide are listed below:


SERVICES TO STUDENTS:

  • Assist and assess mental, emotional, social, and behavioral health related issues
  • Provide crisis intervention
  • Work toward creating a positive learning environment by collaborating with students, teachers, and families 
  • Connect students with the appropriate resources that address their needs
  • Empower students to advocate for themselves
