G3542 PHYSICAL EDUCATION I
Grade 9
One Semester, 1 Credit
P.E.I is a course designed to develop skills and knowledge, social interaction and safety and health habits through participation in various team and individual development activities. A swimming course is required. This class is so structured that each student will be swimming at their level of ability. Some of the activities you will participate in are: volleyball, tumbling, basketball, intro. to weight-lifting, square dance, flag football, aerobic dance, floor hockey, soccer, archery, tennis and track & field.
G3544 Physical Education II
Grade 9, 10
One Semester, 1 credit
Physical Education II focuses on instructional strategies through a planned, sequential, and comprehensive physical education curriculum which provides students with opportunities to actively participate in four of the following areas that were not included in Physical Education I: team sports; dual sport activities; individual physical activities; outdoor pursuits; self-defense and martial arts; aquatics; gymnastics; and dance, all of which are within the framework of the skills, knowledge and confidence needed by the student for a lifetime of healthful physical activity and fitness. Ongoing assessment includes both written and performance-based skill evaluation.

Grades 10-12
One-Two Semesters, 1 Credit per Semester

Prerequisite: PE I & PE II
This course is designed to develop individual skills through participation in specialized sports activities with emphasis on leisure time activities. You will participate in the following activities: weight-lifting, basketball, flag football, mushball, softball, badminton, archery, and tennis. Students may enroll for one semester only.
G3560S ELECTIVE P.E.: STRENGTH TRAINING
Grades 10-12
One-Two Semesters, 1 Credit per Semester
*Students may earn a max number of 8 credits in elective PE Course
Prerequisite: PE 1, PE 2
A Physical Education course open to all male students in grades 10, 11, 12. This course will incorporate the latest in strength training techniques and theories with the finest equipment available. The course will be geared toward the prevention of injury, improving performance potential and improving personal appearance. Students may enroll for one semester only.

Grades 10-12

High school health education provides the basis for continued methods of developing knowledge, concepts, skills, behaviors and attitudes related to student health andwell-being. This course includes the major content areas in a planned, sequential, comprehensive health education curriculum as expressed in the Indiana Health Education Standards Guide: (1) Growth and Development; (2) Mental and Emotional Health; (3) Community and Environmental Health; (4) Nutrition; (5) Family Life; (6) Consumer Health; (7) Personal Health; (8) Alcohol, Tobacco, and Other Drugs; (9) Intentional and Unintentional Injury and (10) Health Promotion and Disease Prevention.
